The Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Awards will take place in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre later this month, bringing together the businesses, charities and decision-makers driving Edinburgh’s economy.
We are delighted to be shortlisted for three awards:
- Employer of the Year
- International Business of the Year
- Rising Star of the Year – Jemma Ward, our Edinburgh-based Professional Head of Scotland.
With the winners to be revealed on 26th February, we’re reflecting on the key reasons we chose to put ourselves forward.
Employer of the Year
The Employer of the Year category focused on maintaining a set of clearly defined company values, underpinning an overarching mission guiding business operation and a shared ethos for all employees. During 2025, we redefined our company values, working with Ceannas to weave feedback from all staff into our approach. This has ensured the values reflect the whole business, with buy-in to This deliver our vision. Our values are also underpinned by the ‘EiB Way’, which sets out what we do, and how we do it – a clear framework for ensuring success.
The category also reflects the prioritisation of employee wellbeing. We are proud to have an excellent suite of wellbeing initiatives available to all staff, which are informed directly by the needs of EiB employees and raised via dedicated wellbeing forums and working groups.
International Business of the Year
Over the past 12 months, we have undergone strategic expansion into Irish and European markets. This success stems from high-profile European infrastructure projects, a permanent presence in Dublin via EiB Ireland, and new services tailored to international clients.
Our client base has expanded, with new relationships across Ireland and Europe, working with Tier 1 and Tier 2 clients in transport, infrastructure, and public services.
Rising Star of the Year
In three years, Jemma advanced from graduate entrant to Senior Bid Consultant, became Marketing Lead for Scotland and Ireland, and now serves as Professional Head, leading our Scotland team. Her rapid trajectory reflects tangible contributions to business growth and team development. In Edinburgh, Jemma leads overall operations, marketing and partnerships to drive regional business growth.
