EiB supported our client with the PQQ stage as the first step in securing this £9.8bn contract.
The opportunity
The Metrolinx GO Expansion Program brings faster, more frequent train services with new transit infrastructure within the GO Transit area, including the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Region (GTHA).
EiB approach and involvement
Facing a quick turnaround at PQQ stage, we provided expert writing support on all responses and case studies. We transferred our in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, adapted to the Canadian regulatory landscape, to ensure a compliant submission.
Maximising the time zone difference: We effectively turned the time zone difference into an advantage, enhancing productivity and collaboration. The timings of our working day overlapped from noon GMT. Therefore, we spend the morning focused on writing, before reaping collaboration time with the client when their working day started. We submitted our work for review where applicable at the end of our working day, receiving comments by the next morning to ensure continuity and progress. Our flexibility (alongside early starts and late finishes as required) meant all team members worked at sensible hours to prevent unnecessary disruption and maximise international collaboration.
Enhancing our communication: To work across a global team, communication was key. We took a hybrid approach to utilise shared documents for clarification of technical concepts and shared meeting notes to be checked and confirmed for accuracy. This enhanced our knowledge exchange and interpretation of the information.
Success and outcomes
Our client’s submission progressed to the ITT stage, surpassing competitor’s scores with expertly crafted case studies. This positioned our client as a vital part in connecting Greater Toronto and maintaining residents’ high-quality of life.
